Tennis Elbow

Tennis Elbow (also known as Lateral Epicondylitis) is the inflammation of the common extensor tendon of the forearm.

Although the name suggests that Tennis Elbow is caused racket sports, other mechanisms such as repetitive movements that may be involved when typing at a desk, playing a musical instrument or performing manual labour can cause this condition.

Microtears may occur within the tendon, and as a result cause localized inflammation which will cause pain when the extensor muscles of the forearm are activated. Other symptoms include weakened grip and on the outside of the elbow.
